Four steps, none of them complicated, all of them ours. Here is exactly what happens when you decide to travel with Stradale.
Browse our collection of curated journeys. Each one is a complete, pre-built route — the result of years of driving, eating, and returning. Read the itinerary, look at the imagery, and see which one speaks to you. You can also ask us to tailor any journey, or build one from scratch.
A small deposit holds your spot. We cap every journey at eight guests, so places are genuinely few — often only one or two remain per departure. Once you reserve, we send a welcome pack with everything you need: a packing list, a reading list, and the first of many conversations.
Your guide is a local who knows the roads and the people on them. Your vehicle is comfortable and yours alone. And your itinerary has room in it — for the unplanned, the unhurried, and the conversation that runs long. We drive the roads that matter, at the hours when they matter most.
Most of our guests come back. Some return to the same road in a different season; others try somewhere new. The map may be the same, but the territory is always new — and so are we, a little, every time we travel it. Returning guests get first refusal on new departures.
Our approach
Eight guests, never more. It is the difference between a journey and a tour, and it is the whole of what we do.
Every cellar, every table, every guide is someone we know. There is no algorithm for that — only time and attention.
We build slack into every day. The best moments of any journey are the ones you didn't see coming.
Every journey is capped at eight guests. Most depart with six to eight. This is small enough to get into the places coaches can’t, and to eat at the tables that matter.
Accommodation in hand-picked hotels and inns, all breakfasts and most hosted meals, private guiding throughout, all the cultural visits and tastings in the itinerary, and a comfortable vehicle with a driver. Flights, travel insurance, and a couple of meals at leisure are not included.
Yes. Any of our journeys can be run privately for you and your party, on dates that suit you, and tailored to your interests. Private journeys are priced individually — get in touch and we’ll build a proposal.
Unhurried. We drive the roads that matter at the right hours, linger where lingering is rewarded, and build slack into every day. Each journey is graded Relaxed, Moderate, or Energetic so you know what to expect.
As early as you can. Because we cap groups at eight, places are few and the best departures fill months ahead. We release new dates a year in advance.
